Bovi wraps up his Guilty as Charged world tour with an epic comedy night in Lagos

The excitement in Lagos was palpable as fans and comedy lovers trooped out for the grand finale of Bovi Ugboma’s acclaimed ‘Guilty as Charged’ world tour. Held at the Eko Convention Centre, the heavily anticipated event delivered a powerful sense of homecoming, treating the massive crowd to an unforgettable night of non-stop laughter and high-energy entertainment.
The three-hour finale was packed with stellar performances that went beyond traditional stand-up. The event featured guest sets from notable comedians like I Go Save, Mr Patrick, and Funny Urch, who kept the audience thoroughly entertained. Adding a dynamic musical variety to the night, the Loud Urban Choir stepped up to deliver popular Afrobeats songs, creating a vibrant musical interlude that got the whole crowd moving. The night also featured a unique organizational touch: every ticket holder had a designated, pre-selected seat rather than the typical open-floor or table arrangements, ensuring a smooth experience for everyone in attendance.
The production was a massive global undertaking that showcased the far-reaching appeal of Nigerian comedy. The tour kicked off internationally in the United Kingdom with a performance at Indigo at The O2 in London. From there, Bovi took his razor-sharp humor across the Atlantic to Canada, successfully touring six different cities before making its triumphant return to home soil, opening with a show in Benin City before culminating in the historic Lagos grand finale. Bringing such an intensive world tour to a successful close marks another major milestone in a career that has spanned nearly two decades. Since beginning his professional journey in entertainment back in 2007, Bovi has continuously evolved, successfully branching out across stand-up comedy, television, acting, writing, and film production. Successfully headlining venues across multiple continents and closing out at home proves the enduring strength of his brand. As Bovi noted, ending such a demanding tour surrounded by home fans who came purely to laugh was the ultimate reward, cementing his status as a titan of African comedy.
