Olamide Set to Headline London’s O2 Arena in Major Afrobeats Moment

##By Entertainment Desk
Nigerian rapper Olamide is preparing for one of the biggest headline shows of his career after announcing a concert at London’s iconic O2 Arena scheduled for March 25, 2027.
The announcement was made on Monday, October 19, 2026, through a promotional video shared on his social media platforms. In the video, the rapper painted the concert date as part of an artistic reveal, giving fans a creative first look at what is shaping up to be a major moment in his international career.
According to Pulse Nigeria and the venue’s official event listing, the show will take place at the 20,000-capacity arena in Greenwich, London. It is expected to feature special guests, with further details to be announced.
The announcement has already drawn attention from fans of the rapper, popularly known as Baddo, as conversations around his next international performance continue to build.

##Why the O2 Arena matters
For Nigerian musicians, performing at London’s O2 Arena is more than another date on a concert calendar. The venue is one of the most recognisable live music destinations in the United Kingdom, and its large capacity makes it a significant test of an artist’s international audience.
Olamide is set to join Nigerian stars including Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Asake and Rema, who have headlined shows at the venue. Their performances have helped demonstrate the growing demand for Nigerian music outside Africa.
The O2 announcement also marks a step up from Olamide’s previous London headline show at the OVO Arena Wembley in November 2025.
That concert was a major moment for the rapper. Pulse Nigeria reported that he sold out the 12,500-capacity venue, with fans singing along to his hits and fellow artists from his musical circle joining him on stage.
Moving from Wembley to the O2 gives him another opportunity to demonstrate the strength of his following in the United Kingdom.
Fans have another reason to anticipate Baddo
Part of Olamide’s appeal is his ability to connect different generations of listeners through a catalogue that blends Yoruba lyrics, street-hop, hip-hop and Afrobeats.
For long-time supporters, the upcoming concert could be an opportunity to hear songs that helped establish his career alongside newer releases. Younger fans may also be drawn to the wider influence of YBNL Nation, the record label he founded and the platform through which he has helped develop other Nigerian artists.
The excitement surrounding the announcement is understandable, but the real measure of its success will come when tickets go on sale and the audience response becomes clearer.
According to the official O2 event listing, the artist presale is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, at 10 a.m., while general ticket sales are due to begin on Friday, October 23, at 10 a.m.

##What this means for Olamide’s career
The Olamide London show arrives at a time when Nigerian music continues to attract international audiences and major concert opportunities.
Olamide’s influence extends beyond his own recordings. Through his work as a rapper, producer and label executive, he has contributed to the growth of a music scene that increasingly travels beyond Nigeria’s borders.
His upcoming O2 Arena performance will provide another opportunity to bring that sound to a larger international stage.
Whether the show sells out remains to be seen. For now, the announcement represents a significant milestone for Olamide and another notable moment in the continuing international rise of Afrobeats.
For fans, March 25, 2027, is already a date to watch.
