AgriFair 2026: 35 Horticulture Businesses to Showcase Local Produce

Thirty-five horticulture businesses are preparing to showcase Ghana’s locally grown fruits, vegetables and processed foods at AgriFair 2026, in a move expected to create new opportunities for small businesses to reach customers and expand their markets.

The three-day agricultural exhibition, organised by Citi FM and Channel One TV, is scheduled for November 27 to 29 at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra. The event will bring together farmers, food processors and other agricultural businesses to display and sell their products.

The Horticulture Business Platform (HBP), which represents businesses across the horticulture value chain, will participate for the third consecutive time, with 35 of its members expected to exhibit their products.

Visitors can expect a variety of locally produced goods, including tomatoes, ginger, turmeric and fruit juices.

For many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), gaining access to customers and finding reliable buyers can be challenging. AgriFair offers these businesses an opportunity to promote their products, meet potential customers and establish commercial relationships that could help them grow.

Catherine Krobo Edusei, Board Chair of the Horticulture Business Platform, said the exhibition was particularly important for businesses that were just starting or struggling to expand. She explained that the fair allows exhibitors to increase their visibility, exchange contacts and build relationships that can continue beyond the event.

For small food businesses, such opportunities can help turn local production into sustainable commercial ventures. Direct engagement with buyers also allows sellers to better understand consumer preferences and identify new markets for their products.

Beyond showcasing produce, events such as AgriFair connects farmers to markets. It helps strengthen links between farmers, processors, distributors and consumers.
By bringing these groups together, the exhibition creates opportunities for businesses to explore partnerships, improve distribution and expand sales. Increased demand for locally produced food could also encourage farmers to boost production and reduce reliance on imported agricultural products.

Anthony Tamakloe, Deputy Board Chair of HBP, said the fair would offer visitors an opportunity to purchase locally produced goods, including tomatoes and fruit juices, ahead of the Christmas season.

AgriFair 2026 is about more than displaying agricultural products. For participating businesses, it offers a chance to gain visibility, attract buyers and build connections that could support long-term growth.

As Ghana seeks to strengthen local food production, platforms that connect small businesses with markets could play an important role in creating jobs, supporting livelihoods and building a more competitive agricultural sector.
